Investing In Neighbourhoods - Eligibility Criteria:

Job Description:

This organization provides support to marginalized adults with mental health and addictions issues through food security programs, housing help, income support applications and maintenance, employment support activities, access to primary health and referrals, supportive housing, case management and outreach. It is a community partner and commercial landlord to 6 diverse community agencies each providing support and services to a variety or residents in Parkdale including newcomers, people living with mental health and/or addiction issues, people living in poverty or under-housed and seeking improved housing. 

 

The Fundraising & Communications Assistant provides support to the Resource Development Department. The position requires a high degree of detail orientation, some problem solving and strong communication and administrative organizational skills. This position reports to the Resource Development Director. 

 

Duties include:

1. Stewardship and communication with individual and small business donors.

2. Website, social media and communications administrative support.

3. Data entry, tax receipting and reconciliation of donation revenue with

Finance Department.

4. Prepare and distribute monthly individual donor and special event fundraising reports.

5. Filing, photocopying, word processing.

6. Perform other duties related to the position as requested from time to time.

 

Skills Requirements:

-Proven computer, internet and database skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

-Experience developing and working with spreadsheets.

-Experience in donor database management preferred; specific database training will be available to the successful applicant.

-Attention to detail is a must.

-Ability to work in a well-organized manner, with accuracy and thoroughness.

-Skilled at interpersonal relations and problem solving.

-Understanding of the issues affecting people who experience poverty, marginalization, and mental health/addictions issues.

-Weekday office hours with evenings and/or weekends required occasionally for special events.
